Walk Score Site Selection Tool

This project was founded on the problem that when securing a Low Income Housing Tax Credit in North Carolina the primary vehicle for approval is your sites walk score. Municipalities are allocated very few LIHTC's every year, and often times several developers are competing for only one or two LIHTC's in a given municipality. This makes for a highly competitive environment where having a strong site, with a strong walk score is imperative to project financing.

My superiors tasked me with creating a system to find out if their prospective sites are competitive within a given municipality. This way they are able to gauge if they need to continue the site search.

As an intern at Mills Construction, my response was a walk score market study that divided the municipality into sectors, identified stronger areas for development and when inputed, displayed what percentile our site is in comparison to the other locations in the municipality.
